"I don't know where I'm going from here,

but I know it won't be boring."

-David Bowie

Nichole Carey grew up in a small town in North Central MN and was inspired by many different musical influences. With her father being a Country Western musician, singing with her dad to legends like Hank Williams, Tammy Wynette and Ernest Tubb are some of her earliest and happiest memories. Watching films from the golden age of Hollywood introduced her to greats like Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby, and the original Northern MN girl herself, the one and only Judy Garland. Garland would become one of her biggest idols and inspirations. Add to that a love of musical theatre, rock, folk, alternative- well you get the idea. There is almost no genre she doesn't love to listen to, and almost no style she doesn't love to sing.

She began her musical journey in 2011, having discovered and fallen in love with the artistry of Cabaret. Since then she has been seen performing at many well-respected Twin Cities music venues including; Jazz Central, Honey, Blanche's at the Town  House, Studio 2 Cafe, Vieux Carré, and the Dakota Jazz Club. She is a published writer, as well as a director and producer, having created and starred in several well-received variety revues at the Bryant Lake Bowl. She is also a contributing member of Smartmouth productions, an up and coming women's comedy troupe based in Minneapolis. In April 2017 she was thrilled to make her New York City cabaret debut at The Duplex in Greenwich Village and also made her Chicago debut at Davenport's in September that same year. She is in the beginning stages of her first professional recordings and plans to follow these up with another show in

New York City this December.

Nichole is a member of the Twin Cities Cabaret Artists Network and a 2012 alum of the prestigious International Cabaret Conference at Yale University. With a voice described "as smooth as butterscotch", she is an up and comer you do not want to miss.
